Hello, I’ve been trying for a couple of days joining an Ubuntu 12.04 to a UCS domain.
The result I’m looking for is to be able to login with domain users to the machine using kerberos authentication, and have control over ACL for domain users. I’ve seen this topic: wiki.univention.de/?title=Ubuntu . But, quite frankly it doesn’t work even after hours of trying to debug and reconfigure. If anyone know how to perform this such trivial task please share!.

I just installed a ubuntu 12.04 machine and successfully connected it to a 3.2-2 master by using the article you mentioned - we can discuss each step if it helps.
Could you first please try to explain what exactly doesn’t work in your case? Does something like “sudo getent group” work?
